It's been a BIG week, pun intended, haha

We kicked off last week filming episode 2 of Smokin' With Big Red's for Josh Allison of Big Red's Barbecue. It was a tasty episode, Spare Ribs! Josh gave some great insight and tips to help you make a great rack of ribs in just 3 hours. Check out the video below:

We followed it up with a trip to Charlotte, NC with Mark & Josh Watkins of Big Fan Racing to film the first two competitors for their Reality Show. This makes episode 2 for them as well.  It is in processing and should be up to view in the next few days. We met some great people and had a heck of a time.

Now it's back to editing on BFR's Episode 2 and some weddings!

Then, Friday, it's time to load up and head to Michigan for a few days to film the next 2 competitors for Big Fan Racing! Going to be a great trip!

Like I said, it was a BIG week, Big Red's & Big Fan, haha.

What a summer it's been! Big projects set to film for the fall!!

Where do I begin?!? We've been covered up with weddings, as usual (lots of updates on the way!!)

Several big projects on our plate now!

We joined forces with Big Fan Racing to start a new reality show on the web. Mark & Josh, a father and son team, are starting a Camping World Truck series team from the ground up in a most usual way.

Here's the first episode. It gives a background to who they are, what they are doing, and what's to come. A different format than the regular episodes, and a little longer.

We are working with Big Red's Barbecue again this coming Saturday, as well as a few more rounds in the near future, putting together some new episodes for their series, Smokin' with Big Red.

Here's their first episode again for any of you that missed it:

Sunday, we have a meeting with director Mike Garland and the cast of his new short film, The Find. It's time for a reading, some BTS, headshots, and planning some shots.

Here's a link to his Indiegogo page if you'd like to help support the project!

And lastly, but certainly not least, we are meeting with Wofford College's Environmental Studies group on Monday to lay out our game plan for filming several educational videos for them over the next few months!

Lots of great things in the works!! Be sure to check back often, as well as LIKE our FaceBook page here: Ridge Runner Media FaceBook  so that you can keep up with the latest project!!

Erin & Brian's Wedding - 4/27/13

We had the privilege of capturing the wedding of Erin & Brian Whitehead at the Historic Springdale House & Gardens in West Columbia yesterday. The rain threatened, and even peaked out a few times, but ended up holding off for this beautiful outdoor wedding. It was a long & fun-filled day with non-stop laughter and smiles. They are truly great people and you can tell they really love each other.

What a weekend!

We had a GREAT weekend, starting off with Amanda & Jeremy's engagement shoot for their upcoming wedding! We traveled to several locations and captured some unique shots for them. They are a very energetic and fun couple to be around! We are really looking forward to their wedding. Here are few photos from their session:

That rounded off Saturday. Then we come to Sunday and our wedding for the USC Wedding Planning Class. We filmed Morgan & Patrick's beautiful wedding held on the USC campus. We could not have asked for any better weather! It was a long and fun-filled day.

Today, we did a bridal session for a good friend, Hannah Bingham. It was another beautiful day where the sun worked with us perfectly to get some truly amazing images. It's too bad I have to wait until after the wedding on May 11th to share them!

Now, tomorrow holds LOTS of sorting and editing! Going to be a fun day!

The rest of the week will be lots of editing, meeting an actress to go over locations for a short film set to film May 5th, a photo & video shoot for the Boys & Girls Club of the Upstate, filming a Senior's recital at Converse College, and a wedding for Erin & Brian in Columbia this coming Saturday! Definitely a busy week!!

Fun ending to the week & a busy weekend ahead!

It's that time of year again, engagement & bridal shoots coupled with many weddings! Going to be a great year!

This weekend we have an engagement session with a wonderful couple on Saturday. Then we are off to Columbia to film a wedding for the USC wedding planning class. Both should prove to be a lot of fun.

Additionally, Emily got a new wheel to get the pottery portion of her Etsy page up and running. Below are some behind the scenes shots of her hard at work. Expect great things from her!

Etsy Photos!

We just did a great shoot with Emily D. for her upcoming Etsy store. She will be offering beautifully dyed scarves, jewelry, and a nice selection of pottery.  We did a shoot for several of her scarves in a variety of pleasing outdoor settings.

Here's a small sampling of what's to come!

Emily was putting each scarf on after shooting it, which turned into a great photo op, haha.

Commissioned for some Museum work!

Recently we were commissioned to reproduce a painting for the SC Military Museum & Relic Room. We thought it would be pretty cool, until we found out exactly what we were being asked to do. We were blown away at the opportunity that was unfolding. We were asked to photograph a painting that is 90'' x 240'', that's nearly 8 feet by 20 feet! It is a part of the Johnson Collection in Spartanburg and is the Gettysburg: Repulse of Longstreet's Assault, July 3, 1863.

You can't just snap a photo of this and reprint it. In order to capture such a massive painting, in a high enough quality to be reproduced life-size, we had to construct a rig to allow us to move our camera & lights across the width and up the height required.

The real fun came into play in post processing. You see, the painting & frame weigh quite a bit. For safety purposes it is anchored to the wall with bolts and cable at the top. This is great for them, however, it means that the painting is tilted back roughly 2" over the span of 8' high. This changes the orientation of the painting in relation to the camera as we moved up each row, and we did 5 rows. Thus, when I started the process of stitching the images together I had to accommodate for this tilt. It made for some very meticulous and fun work. This is the largest jigsaw puzzle we have ever worked on, haha.

This painting is being reproduced for a gallery in the SC Military Museum in commemoration of the 150th anniversary of the battle of Gettysburg. It will be printed roughly 8'x20', and be on display for 6 months at the entrance to the exhibit.

This photo is a compilation of over 75 photos that were meticulously stitched together digitally.

It was a very involved process that we are proud to have been a part of!

Jon & Christina - Married April 7, 2013

We had the pleasure of photographing Jon & Christina's wedding this past Sunday. It was a beautiful event. She and the bridesmaids wore Henna ink on their hands and feet and were adorned with handmade Saris. It was set at the Music Camp off Childress Rd. in Canons, SC. As night grew near, the bonfire started up and the s'mores came out! This was one of the most unique & enjoyable weddings we have ever attended.

Congratulations Jon & Christina!!

Great session yesterday!

We had an awesome session with local actress Heidi F. She is always a lot of fun. We wandered downtown and found some great locations to update her portfolio. Below are a couple of the shots from yesterday. Sadly, headshots are supposed to be color these days, but I'm just a sucker for B&W, so I do some of those anyway, haha.

Equestrian shoot!

We spent Tuesday evening on the Goodlett farm, photographing their beautiful daughter with some of her horses. It was one of those evenings when the sun setting was giving us perfect light to work with. One of the horses got a little rambunctious with the flies, and the other wanted to play in the water when we got near the pond, haha. We had a great time & captured some beautiful photos! Here are a couple of them

PGA Pro Jeff Shores

We ended last week with a great session on the course with PGA Pro, Jeff Shores. We filmed some great golf tips with him and learned about his company, Golf Squad . It's an excellent program for kids of all ages; and well worth checking into.

"In a social and fun environment, kids learn the vocabulary, etiquette, safety, social and technical aspects necessary to enjoy golf for a lifetime."

Today, we heading out to a local ranch for an equestrian photo session.  We'll have some photos up asap.

Wedding for USC Columbia!

We have been asked to film & photograph a wedding put on by a Wedding Planning Course at USC in Columbia.  Roughly 20 couples applied for this spot, but only one could win. We went down today to capture the announcement of the winners! This class has done a great job thus far & we cannot wait for the big day. We have Engagement & Bridal photos coming up in a couple of weeks at the beautiful Lace House in Columbia. This couple has a great story of how they met & made it to this day, which will be part of their wedding video. We will be sure to share it with you after the wedding on Nov 18th! For now, enjoy a few photos from today's event!

Back to work after Labor Day!

Hope you all had a great Labor Day! We started our "short" week off with an opening ceremony for the Boys & Girls Club of the Upstate at Cowpens Elementary. The event was a lot of fun, but then again, kids are always fun to work with. Local Congressman Trey Gowdy gave a short speech to the new students participating in the program.  Following the ceremony we shot a variety of photos to be used for billboards around the area.  It's always a joy to work with Greg & Heidi from the Boys & Girls Club!

What a weekend!!

We kicked off the weekend with some fun & laid back music filming Erik Huffman and Jameson Clark of "Palmetto" at Joe's Crab Shack in Greenville. We followed that up with an AMAZING bridal session for Carmen Tisdale. Then, we rounded the weekend off with a beautiful wedding for John & Rania. This was a traditional Egyptian wedding; and I must say, it was quite an experience. We had such a good time at the church. Everyone was beyond helpful and welcomed us with open arms. You couldn't have found a more inviting group of people.

We can't share any of the bridal photos yet,  but trust me, you will love them when we can!

For now, here is a photo from our pre-wedding session with John & Rania. That's a '31 Ford in the photo...that car made me drool a little haha.

Busy Weekend Ahead!

This looks to be a busy week & weekend for us! Headshots this week, then ending the week filming local celebrity, Erik Huffman performing with his band at Joe's Crab Shack on Friday, Bridal shoot on Saturday, and then it's off to film & photograph a last minute booking for a wedding on Sunday! We've definitely got our hands full this week!

Been a great start to August!

We started the month off with a great shoot. We were honored to do a session with Jamarcus Gaston of Scene on 7! Jamarcus is a great guy that always has a smile on his face. We managed to find a serious side during this shoot though, and got some amazing shots.  He's a blast to work with.

Second shot a wedding with Jaime Huffman Photography.

We've booked a few weddings for later this year, and two for next summer.

Lastly, we've partnered up with a local PR company, run by Jaime Huffman. We are helping provide her with a variety of video for her client's websites.
